The details on his birth are sketchy and differ depending on the source. This can be expected when you’ve been alive so long. Eros came into existence after Chaos, Gaia and Tartarus, his older siblings. The god had kept to himself through the ages, working silently in the background to help Life bloom. Then, during the time of the Greek empire, he finally found love himself. The god had been reborn, fully grown, to Aphrodite and Ares. When the goddess discovers the mortals worshiping a mortal princess, she sent her son to make the princess, Psyche, fall for a hideous man. Surprised by Psyche’s beauty and accidentally scratched himself with his golden arrow. After many trials and interference from Aphrodite, Psyche was made an immortal. She became the deification of the human soul and grew butterfly wings. The pair bore Hedone, the goddess of physical pleasure and bliss.
